You forgot to mention in your “About Me” that you are also a stunt pilot!
In all seriousness, I just wanted to say I enjoyed reading your article about Khalidi at Columbia University. It is good to know that someone is finally standing up to him and the way Middle Eastern Studies are being conducted. We need more people like Professor Fletcher in Colleges and Universities. I would have got a kick out of seeing Khalidi’s face turn red. Keep up the good work!

Thanks John. We do need more people like Professor Fletcher. I hope he gets a chance to debate the Middle East Studies gang at Columbia.
I’ve gone to a few conferences at Columbia where dissenting voices were heard. The Law department seems to be making a good effort to provide an evenhanded point of view.
I’m not a stunt pilot (yet :-) – that’s a photo of me as a passenger, about to take a ride on a classic, restored biplane. It gets windy up there.

Mary,
Just read your dead-on critique of Ryan Mauro’s piece on PJM on the IRI/KSA proxy war in Yemen. You’re exactly right about where AQ is in this dust-up.
By the way: I have a new permanent blog perch on History News Network under my name and my nom de plume, “Occidental Jihadist.”
