Wedding out-takes

I used to work as a wedding photographer’s helper, following my boss around, taking black and white ‘photojournalist’ candids. Every wedding produces more a few of these kinds of shots.

I had to quit because it was all weekend work, and being gone on Saturdays and Sundays annoyed my family, but it was one of the more fun jobs I’ve ever had: helping people out during the total freak-out sessions before the wedding; trying to keep everyone from being too stiff during the post-ceremony posed photos; watching everyone get wasted during the reception; gossiping in the kitchen with the waitresses; grabbing bits of food here and there. I got seriously addicted to jalapeno cheese nuggets and over-sweetened cake.
